“Nice clear guide, simple to use plenty of capacity and features though some apps are not as advanced as the ones on my samsung TV i.e the chili app and not sure if i like the android side of things. would be useful to be able to transfer my recordings over via usb”

“Far too clevewr for it's own good. I have had Humax STB's for more trhan 10 years now but can't get on with this one.
Although BBC still broadcast their original "Red Button" text service, (BBC channel press 'TEXT' and there it is. Any tv sdt or STB 3years old or more will work), Humax don't seem capable of updating the software to do it.
Tried several times to pair the TV and box. I've now given up. Switch the Aura off at night, get up in the morning and it's switched itself on. Why have the choice of 12 or 24 hour clock?
programme guide stays in 12 hour mode.
I spent a month watching the recordings on my FVP5000 only to find I have to go through it all again after recoonecting the 5000.
English Channel just down the road so the only thing left is to see if the Aura can swim. If it can I'll give it a reprieve”
“Humax Aura TV player is brilliant BUT the service was not good. Ordered it on 30/12/21 and paid £15 for next day delivery, it arrived on 05/01/22 NOT GOOD.”
“Have been using the aura for about 2 months now and so far been very good.
BAD... the unit has locked up 3 times now, which is annoying, and sometimes live tv is blank and I have to switch channels to get it back.
GOOD... the 4 channel record is fab, and means I can record lots of favourite programmes.
Very quiet operation.. I previously tried the fvp5000 which made a terrible humming noise, the aura is almost silent. Must admit I have not used the android stuff as my main interest was 4 channel recording.”
“Easy to use, fast-ish and has great picture quality. Lipsync is a pig to sort and the absence of Netflix means the smart TV is still the first choice for streaming.
One issue I have is many recordings are recorded twice simultaneously which is odd and a little bit annoying. Hoping a software update will cure in the not too distant future.
Would still recommend though.”
