“Only just received it directly from Humax and it shows TV so that is positive. Easy to setup and connect, does sometimes turn itself off or jump around when changing channels, not been used long enough yet to give an in-depth analysis of its use.
Purchased direct from Humax but very disappointed in the slow delivery as they used DHL and when I queried the delivery was told to contact DHL myself. Very poor customer service from the manufacturer”
“It is a great step up from the relatively old Freesat Humax we had before. So far it works a treat, although we, as yet, have not ventured further a field than watching the tv and recording quite a few programmes so to time shift them. I'm sure when we get into the rest of it, it will prove equally successful.”
“on the whole this is a great unit, it does the job, it's quick, easy to use and fairly easy to setup. The only downside is the Humax app, which is supposed to work with along side it, if it worked as expected then it would be a 5 star review and a great combo”
“Just bought this and I am fairly happy with it. It was a little frustrating to set up as it kept coming out of the set-up procedure after each section and I kept having to start at the beginning again. However, perseverance eventually got the process finished. Once done the box does more or less what it says on the tin. I find the fast-forward and reverse operation a bit awkward and would prefer it if there was a skip 60 seconds function or something similar as on my old box. I find it either takes too long or I overshoot. I am still getting used to the remote though. Personally, I would have liked it to have analogue audio out so that I can use it with my HiFi system. I have had to buy a DAC to do this and at the moment I can play apps via this, but not TV direct which I would like to do if I just catch a concert or something when I turn on. I may be in the minority with this, but I bought it for my own use, not anyone else's. There is also the issue that you cant download whichever web browser you like, as although they may be available on the Google Play store, they won't all work with Android TV. This could be clearer in the advertising information. So you can browse the web but only on limited browsers. I would have liked to install something like Duckduckgo which has more security. However, once I have everything set up, I probably won't use the web much anyway, as I will be using the downloaded apps. All in all this device does give me more of what I wanted compared to my old BT you view box which is why I bought it. I can work around the audio issue, it's just a pain and an expense I hadn't counted on. Everything else is good and the purchase has been a reasonably positive experience.”
