“I expected better for the money paid. Quite a few niggles from day one, when paused it replayed from real time. Can't get ITV Hub to work, it says the device doesn't have permissions. When in sleep, the next morning it started up with sound but the screen was black,,,had to power off and restart.
Love having all my TV apps available on this one device and will definitely stick with it, but not the rolls Royce TV box I was expecting. Please keep updating. Thanks,”
“It’s a very good unit however there are a few things to note:
1. The absence of a Netflix app.
2. The remote app is not yet available either on Apple or Android
3. The sound control is not as sensitive as my previous Humax box, the on screen slider control goes up and down in big jumps so it’s either too loud or too quiet.
4. I’ve noticed on playing back live TV when it’s been put on hold, it can be jumpy on picture and sound.
5. There’s no facility to access the Aura box wirelessly from other devices.”
“Pretty good allround android/dtv recorder,could do with the addition of Netflix and apple tv to make it my go to android device,slight picture distortion/break up after pausing tv and on recordings,there is room for improvement with some updates,no aura app availability yet.”
“Very pleased. Very easy to setup and use. Smart looking, compact, silent.
Only cons I've noticed:
- intermitently while watching a live TV programme there would be an on-screen notifcation that my 5khz wifi connection had been lost. Never had this problem with any other device. Fixed by connecting a network cable.
- annoying while engrossed in another programme to get an onscreen message telling me that the machine is being set up to record a programme, and then yet another message, ten minutes later, to tell me that the recording has started. Should be an option to switch this notification off. If there is, I haven't yet found it.
- the search facility is a antiquated - the alphabet is arranged in a long line, rather than in a block with letter prediction, so takes ages to navigate. Search does no always find programmes even if they appear in the FreeView guide .
- as others have commented, it is odd that a box that is advertised as "bringing together all the entertainment you love in one place", doesn't have Netflix.
Hopefully, these are just bugs that will be fixed in the near future.”
“Would be better if the box did not fail to regularly switch on which results in having to unplug the unit every few days to get it to reset. The App is also not available despite all the hype and details included in the sales and operation documentation.”
