“The device itself is good and delivers a lot of functions. However there are a lot of configuration options and there needs to be an online interactive guide - especially as new config options are added by software updates. It would also be helpful to have some guidance on the devices that can be used with the Aura and what config options are relevant. I'm using it in a small room and did not want a full size TV. I'm using a 27" HDMI monitor that connects to a small sound bar via the headphone jack. This seems to work well and I'm happy with the picture on Freeview and apps.”
“Great picture quality on the main channels. We seem to have issues that we didn’t have with our previous human box with signal quality on a lot of the smaller channels. We also have issues with recordings glitching and with paused tv not playing from where left of but about 20 mins before we paused it.”
“I bought Aura because I'd tried an FVP-5000T expecting the app to allow me to send record requests remotely (away from the house), but it required be to be on the same wifi network, which seemed to miss the point. The Aura app, however works well and allows true remote recording, amongst other things. The Aura box is fast and easy to use.”
“Previously had an EE TV freeview/recorder, which had 1TB recording, mobile interface, and similar facilities to the Aura. Alas, the Aura drops the digital signal quite regularly. Also, why can't we have recording from android mobile? Will you be updating and adding facilities? Otherwise the Aura is a nice product.”
“box is fine but remote is difficult to hold, ie, is has no grip underneath and slides through hand to easily,ok button is difficult to manovere unlike other humax remotes”
“I have had Humax products for 10/12 years and currently I have a Freeview box at our caravan and always been more then pleased and recommended them to friends. However this Aura (to upgrade Freesat) I am very disapointed with the remote and symbols on the screen. The recordings button on the remote is unreadable in half light of living room (we are in our 60s) and inconvenient place at the top. The media button on the Freeview/Freesat is in the middle of the remote and large triangular and easily found. Information on recording options are unreadable by elderly users unless we walk up to the TV. Select all symbol is indistinguishable on screen. No skip button avaiable to FF adverts. Remote conflict with BT box not sorted (and hack doesn't work) very poor after all this time. Programmes set up to record on EPG indistinguishable in small plain r (large red R on Freesat/sat.) Picture and sound brilliant.”
