“The choice was between a Humax Aura - with [at time of purchase] no Netflix capability or the FVP-5000T.
Shock horror - the FVP-5000T has a 7 day programme guide - BUT THE SEARCH FACILITY IS NOT - so it is impossible to search ahead for particular programmes or programmes by genre like movies. You can only search for what is on today - whenever "today" is when you search.
This made the entire unit useless to me and I had to send it back for a refund [which went smoothly].
So here I am stuck with my old Humax which does search ahead 7 days - an indispensible feature - using my LG smart TV for Netflix.
I look forward to the next stunning Humax which will presumably be steam driven.”
“Excellent delivery service, but unfortunately the recorder hard drive was 98% full and was unusable! This problem was quickly rectified by having another unit sent out in about 4 days. Although this unit still had about 20 movies recorded on it it was usable.

“The refurbished 5000T has 2tb of storage and far more facilities than my current Humax, It will be used as a backup machine when required. It's set up to do so but remains unused at the moment. I still find it strange to have to use the external power supply but that seems to be the norm these days.”
“I bought this to replace a 4000T (also a refurbished item) which has been giving good service for years and finally gave up!
The new FVP-5000T 2TB (refurb) arrived in good time and there is't really anything to show it is a refurb. Easy setup and very similar to the previous one, so no problems there.
My only minor gripe, which appears to be the same as in all the range with this same type of case), is the poor visibility and colour differential of the status LED. Separate LED's on the front, not located below the overhang behind a semi transparent section of the main casing would be much more user friendly. The existing arrangement is virtually unreadable in daylight. Separate LEDs may not look so "trendy", but they would be much better indicators.”
“Very pleased with this refurbished model. I have bought a few refurbished models over many years and never disappointed. The layout is a bit different to other models but getting used to it. Just trying to see if there is a quicker way of deleting programmes with cancelling the series too.”
