I'm disappointed with this machine most of the time because I cannot see what programs it will be showing in a few hours time let alone 7 days time Humax keep saying there will be an update I think it's a fault with this machine I just can't plan ahead. My other Humax didn't do it

Excellent device for recording and maintaining your favourite TV programmes.

Nice piece of kit. Easy to connect and use. Interface is straightforward and simple enough to navigate. My only minor criticism is there’s only one hdmi output. So I had to create and use a 3.5mm jack to dual phono lead to connect audio out via my soundbar.

I began with Humax when they also sold TV's. I have continued to upgrade my Recorder boxes over the years - even recommending them to family who then bought one each. I am on my fifth box and as usual very pleased with it - and it seems, unlike other electronic gadgets, easier to set up than ever!

Does most of what you expect except that you can’t use My5 as it doesn’t work (on my box anyway). More importantly, I bought it expecting to be able to record remotely, as advertised, but that didn’t work either, after following all the instructions. Therefore it’s going back!

Good software is let down by a very slow processor. When, for example, you select a recorded programme it takes around 5 seconds for the details to appear. The typeface on the Schedule is very small making it difficult to read from a distance. You either need to sit very close to the TV or have an absolutely huge TV.

I purchased this Humax FVP-5000T for use in Ireland. Saorview is Ireland's national Digital television service which now only provides a HDVB-T/MPEG-4 HD broadcast. The television I was using is a Sony HD set which would only receive MPEG 2 and could only receive sound but not picture. The unit achieves this conversion very well. I had previously used an older Humax to convert to an analogue set in another property in Ireland and was able to make a comparison. The FVP-5000T is much smaller in size and the remote is smaller with less buttons rather like Sky Q and It provides all the Apps that I need via WiFi. My only criticisms are that you cannot see the led status light which is set low down at the front and I found it impossible to find technical information on the set and had to phone Humax to get it.
