Doesn't reliably power on. App and network playing completely useless. User interface much worse than previous products. Cannot recommend.

This machine has been significantly changed from previous Freeview recorders. The addition of tuners to allow multi channel recording has resulted in the need for a stronger signal than in the previous models with less tuners. They don’t tell you this in the blurb! Ours is fine now we have fitted a second aerial amp and changed the aerial to receive a different transmitter, all at a additional cost of £130

Compared to my Fox T2, this is very slow to power up and slow to start menus but otherwise is as good as it gets

Great. Needs easier to identify forward/back/stop/play buttons on remote.

The Humax does exactly what I wanted and expected. The remote controller is a bit difficult to use and takes time to respond but I'm sure I will get used to this in time

I owed the FVP400T for about 4 year & this one is identical so easy to use. The delivery for the company was fast as I order it on a Sunday & received on the Tuesday. The storage is brilliant as I recorded 200 program & still only use a quarter of the space. Good value for the money.

I have bought a number of Humax Freeview players in the past and have been happy with them. The FVP-5000T promised to be better for being able to record four programs while watching a fifth. I have had it for 2 weeks and in the time it has frozen twice, requiring a re-boot. Apart from that it works well. It's not quite as user friendly as the DTR T1000 that it replaced. I do miss a front panel display showing details of the viewing channel that its tuned to and there is no indication when the unit is actually switched on. There's a red LED underneath that turns blue when it's on, but it's out of sight, which is a puzzle to me. During an evening's viewing I may switch viewing between my Humax Freesat box and this Freeview box. This is the time when some indication that it is; at least, switched on and displaying the channel that it's tuned to would be good to know. Perhaps I should have researched it more. I can live with it but I am a little disappointed.
