“Had to reboot it to get it to work .
Once rebooted still could not get into Netflix or Yahoo.
Rebooted third time, can now get Netflix but still no Yahoo.
Too much delay between remote and response on screen.
Recording menu requires too many clicks. Not obvious how to get v
Back to main menu after setting recording.”
“This box was purchased to replace a BT Freeview box, which I cancelled the subscription on. On first use, it performed very well. The box is easy to set up and use, easy to programe recordings on and records and plays very well. The TV picture is clear and crisp. Would have given 5 stars had I not had the following problems. The remote control has a couple of issues which may be the the box or the remote control. When using the guide, when selecting the programe to be selected, there was no option to select only close. Twice when selecting the guide, the box turned off.”
“Excellent quality and performance of course, but would prefer instant rewind/forward buttons on the remote as with older models, also guide is a bit slower than the older models. Otherwise, very pleased with Humax and my third generation purchase.”
“1st it comes with a wall wart rather than either integral or inline PSU
2nd the remote and the user interface are as ergonomic as a dead halibut in the ear compared to the T2
3rd the most useful feature on a PVR is the skip forward and back - haven't found that on this model
4th UI is slow and cumbersome
5th the web interface for control from a PC doesn't even vaguely work
... how long have you got?
This should have been a fantastic machine but looks a pre-release of alpha 1
The down pointing LED is useless when the unit sits on carpet by the way
It does look good though but to be honest that is not that important to me
I wish I had just bought a second T2 :-(
Oh and a final grumble - humax publish an email address; why? They never respond to emails on it”
“Seems to work ok and happy that I can record several things at a time as all the good programming happens at 9pm. One of the main reasons for the purchase was that I was missing the app on Youview which was discontinued. However was disappointed that the Humax app was very outdated and not very useful. This needs updating if you sell products advertising this fact.”
“The software is awful: Very slow to be a able to view the broadcast when changing between channels it seems to take too long, Also when a channel is selected though the guide you get a window to confirm you want to watch the channel you've just selected!!! ( very irritating).
When you select "Option " "Genre" and then filter Film the guide layout is so hard to read.
If there is more than one programme recorded of the same series it defaults to the most recent recording resulting in having to re-select the oldest recording.
if you are watching a recorded program and you then leave it and then return to it - the default option is to 'watch live' you have to over ride this by choosing to play recording and then choose from where you left off.
I my opinion the YouView software is much more superior.
Can I please have my money Back!!
Sorry
David Smith”
“This is my 4th Freeview Humax box. I have to say I have had my problems with these along the way, one of which was a youview version, which went awol. My last one, a 4000 2tb version, had hard drive problems. I like the interface etc of Humax products but it is not perfect. I just hope the hard drive on this model last the course as apparently there is not away of backup of HD programs (copyright issue)”
“Bought this to replace an old HDR-FOX T2.
The good: Netflix and catchup TV apps available as well as iPlayer. More storage space. More concurrent recordings.
The bad: Sluggish navigation and channel changing. It's bearable but a backwards step from the older box.
The unforgiveable: No apparent ability to organise recordings according to your own preferences. So, you have 100 films on the hard disc and you can't group them all into a folder you've called 'films'. A HUGE step back and I'm now faced with a kludgey workround or sending the Humax back as not fit for purpose - if I can find an alternative that does this.”
