“I purchased a Humax recorder prior to buying this one and am very pleased with this particular purchase .
It has a perfect reception and so easy to use .
I would not hesitate recommending buying this recorder again .”
“Am enjoying this new box. It was easy enough to set up but just a little too far away for me to read writing. Just annoyed that I have to have separate passwords for the catch-up players, but that is not a real problem. Customer service was excellent ( I ordered a duplicate by mistake, arrangements for collection went very smoothly). Halfway to cutting the cord with Sky now :-)”
“A good machine (at second attempt - the first one had to be returned but that was efficiently sorted by Humax).
Many improvements over my much older Humax, especially the quick loading of programmes. Pausing live TV is really helpful, as is combining recorded series into one listing entry. We use the subtitles as our hearing has deteriorated. I miss the ability to instantly go forward 2 or 3 minutes to skip adverts etc. but the FF is very efficient and, unlike BBC iPlayer for example, one can see the scenes being skipped. There’s more to the machine that I’ve yet to explore, but for simply recording and playing back favourite programmes it’s very good.”
“What is generally a good recorder that is let down by a poor program guide. The text is in thin characters, white on a black background and hard to see at a distance. It can only be stepped through in 2-hour jumps. The splitting of the hour across the now and previous divide leads to program names being unreadable and the time 'line' blocks a bit more. At times it takes a lot of handset presses to get what you want to do; some not really necessary. I do not know where the program descriptions come from but they do not seem to have much detail. Compared to my previous PVR-9300T the guide is a backward step. The machine does what it is supposed to and the refurbished version looked brand new (with a saving in cost also). Be patient with the startup - it is slow!”
