“Purchased replacement for DTR-T1000 that finally died. This unit is much improved, far quicker start-up time and more responsive. WiFi enabled so I can remove the powerline adaptors. Includes lots of new features such as playing media from local network. Very pleased with my purchase. Why do I need a PVR? Mainly to record TV and skip through the commercials! Yes. Any cons? The case gets quite hot in the middle and since PSU is external it is a small worry.”
“This unit was bought to replace a previous FVP-5000T that had died after 3 years of reasonably heavy use so its durability was acceptable, even if it had a significant 'user interface' issue. What I find astonishing is that over that time you haven't corrected this staggeringly obvious design fault with the nearly impossible-to-see LED indicators - the design makes as much sense as an automotive designer putting the indicators, brake lights, etc UNDER the car.
Not sure if it was done in an attempt to improve the aesthetics of the casing's mouldings, but it is an epic fail!”

“Takes an age to change channels and from time to time states that the signal has gone despite the connections not being altered. Just disappointed as it replaced an identical box which just died with a whole load of recordings on it and , of course, now lost.”
