“Overall a great device but with the same flaws others report, namely the software is slow (not unbearably, but annoyingly), and the power button is underneath the device - good luck working out whether it is on or off just by looking at it.”
“The first one made a buzzing noise when the tv was silent. I returned it which was easy, they arranged DPD to collect the refurbished one and left a replacement which also buzzes.

I’ve never had a pvr before that makes a noise. The other quirky thing, you can be watching a recording, finish. Go to the guide and the current programmes say close, even though their live. So I have to turn it off and on again to get it to work?”
“The box is easy to set up and for simple viewing and recordings. The advanced functions like setting up favourites take a little longer. The remote is not as responsive as others such as the Sky remote or TV remote but is acceptable. The refurbished price makes the box good value. The signal quality in my room is shown as 100% and the signal strength as 88%. This results in a very good image. I bought the Humax box with the objective of breaking out from the shackles of Sky TV. I would record free to air programmes and watch Sky sports selectively through buying NOW TV passes. However when I rang to cancel Sky and explained my thinking I was offered such a good deal (I suspect reserved for the most determined cancellers), I decided to stay. Accordingly the Humax box is largely unused but over time I am sure it will have its uses. The delivery time was excellent within 24 hours.”
“good points and bad - found my previous Humax YouView box better for catch up. For some reason on this one if you are watching something you are also recording and behind say 20 minutes, when the recording stops so will what you are watching which means you need to then go into your programmes, find it and play it (it does though start off where it stopped). I prefer how it can record 4 programmes at once (old one only did 2). Sometimes though, very slow especially when selecting channels on live Freeview or when requesting recorded programmes it goes back to live channel then eventually comes back to programme lists. I do prefer how this one lists your recordings and shows those that are scheduled. I was debating between 3 or 4 out of 5 as I am pleased with some of the functions but disappointed with others.”
“Does the job, but needs switching off completely occasionally to reset software. Humax have not updated software for some time. Have they stopped supporting this product?”
“Easy to set up and use. A few minor quirks - some slow responses and the guide really needs sorting out to efficiently function all the time. Generally satisfied and apart from those point would have given it 5”
