Compared to a cheap recordable Freeview box I have, Humax was not easy to set up. The instructions to join my wireless network really silly. I had to contact technical support twice before sorting it out. The onboard keyboard is nasty and not good to use. Otherwise it works ok, but would have likes direct access to Google. Can this be set up? Barrie Yates 12/11/2020

It arrived and was faulty so I had to send it back for a refund that took 2 weeks. Not very impressed at all.

Mainly good, up to 4 progs recording at once. General networking ok but a little bandwidth hungry. Bad points . No advert skip button for Youtube. No 24 hour advance button for record setting, (it's there by a very clunky method with the + button) No Play TV/ Roku app shame. Good size (neat). Needs ventilation as it runs quite hot. Like my other Humax models (I have three including Freesat it tends to repeat record programs which are repeated in the seven days after the original. This is most likely the stations problem. Shares some remote control buttons with the freesat model so a problem when in the same room.

The Humax is fit for purpose, it does what it's intended to, but any negative comments already posted are all accurate! I have owned a couple of previous Humax pvr's and I was aware of some of their foibles, but why the indicator light is placed underneath is beyond me - I have placed a small mirror underneath to try and catch the reflection! The advert. 'skip' button has been dropped and the interface is really slow. I can put up with these backward steps but what really annoys me is the Humax customer care. I have contacted them twice over a period of time with queries and they have never come back to me. It is NOT 'customer-care' You'll have more chance of getting a cure for Covid 19 than receive a follow-up call from Humax !

A good quality Freeview Play Recorder that looked like new. It performs the required functions well with one minor step back from the HDR-2000T that it replaced, and that is the somewhat awkward and sometimes unclear EPG.

Dealt with Humax for a number of years now and I have had both the Freeview and the Freesat boxes and it is great equipment for the tv especially now you can record four programs at once.
