Purchased this FVP-5000T toreplace a HDR-2000T which was a good piece of kit – BAD DECISION – this is the most buggy piece of trash I have ever owned
The web is awash with its many shortcomings [unfortunately didn’t check till after purchase] – I won’t repeat them all here, as it would take too long.
An example would be the search facility in YouTube – the alphabet disappears when you start a search! [see photo]. So it can’t be used. Humax are aware of this failure yet still sell the device – tantamount to fraud.
I won’t mention the remote – looks like its 30 years old! twice the size of a “modern” one. – or indeed the Power status indicator led is on the BOTTOM of the unit! Simply cannot be seen unless room is in total darkness – what imbecile designed and approved this most basic failure
Be warned and don’t fall into the trap I did – they USED to be good kit, but are trash now - Under no circumstance will I buy another humax product –”
“The box works very well, the downside is the lack of a display on the front of the unit with only only a tiny light on the front to tell you whether or not it’s working. Much prefer the PVR 930T FOR DISPLAY”
“I have an older model and purchased tghis as a present for my wife as a replacement. This is more upto date than mine which does not have wi-fi which works perfectly here. Her old Samsung now has smart features which is great as she is a tv addict.

Storage - again as in earlier PVR models I would prefer that "series" recordings were at the top of the list, when there a lot of recordings they are just in date order with "series" included interspersed, and often harder to find.
Otherwise a good recorder, the main purpose for purchasing.”
