“There is a time lag when selecting a program to play.
The controls are a bit different from my old 1800T. I miss the buttons where you could jump forward or backward by a fixed amount. I had mine set to jump forward 1 minute per press and back 30 seconds. I could easily find the right spot when avoiding adverts. With the new one I just have to use the fast forward/back buttons and it is more difficult to get the right spot.
I think that this is the 3rd or 4th Humax recorder that I've had over the years. I think that they should have alternative input sockets, other than the RF so that material from other sources could be added.”
“This is the third Humax PVR we have owned. The previous one, DTR-T1010, has lasted 12 years, but like our original one, has needed frequent resets and became very slow in operation. The FVP-5000T initially showed some similar tendencies, but improved after software was updated. Once or twice it has had no sound after "waking-up" and a power reset was necessary. I hope this does not become a frequent occurrence. Overall it works very well, once we have got used to the differences in operation compared with the previous models.”
“Easy to set up, just plug in the HDMI lead and aerial input then turn it on and follow the set-up procedure. I recorded some films using the easy to follow guide and on play back I even got the subtitles.”
