“Unfortunately I could not get this recorder to work despite the suggestions made by Customer support and so the recorder has been returned to Humax and I am waiting for my refund. Customer Support were excellent.”
“A full featured video recorder. The User Manual is rather short but on screen help assists. A card was included for phone assistance but not used. It does what it says on the box.”
“Unfortunately, when it arrived, this machine had a problem with the programming. It would not populate beyond the current day. As a result, I could not use the machine to record any future programmes, which was the reason I bought it.
I have returned the machine but am still awaiting my refund.”
“My old recorder was on its last legs so I decided to try a refurbished recorder based on reviews. It arrived very well packed and looking like a new one. It was easy enough to set up with the quick set up guide and following the on screen instructions, which appeared immediately it was connected, although I had to do it twice as it didn’t finish the process the first time (I had to switch it off and back on again to get back to the set up screen). It’s very easy to watch tv, record from the tv guide and pay recordings. Being able to record 4 programmes at once and watch a fifth is so useful. After having had it a week, I have 2 gripes. One is that the TV guide font is about half the size of that of my old recorder, which was perfectly legible! I struggle to see the new one from the sofa. It might be ok on a giant TV but I dislike big TVs. Gripe 2 is the TV guide itself as half the time it only shows the bbc channels, with ‘no information available’ on the others. I researched this and it’s a massive problem, so Humax must be aware? Various forums suggested doing technical things to tuners but one person suggested switching the recorder off on standby for 30 seconds, then switching back on again. This has worked a few times for me but it’s still a nuisance, especially if you want to set up something to record on itv etc. Oh yes, itvx isn’t available either! I had read this on the reviews before purchasing, and on the product specifications so knew about this, but it is a bit of a nuisance. All in all, though, I’d still give it 4 stars so far.”
