It is very early days but there are a number of aspects I find a little disappointing. Firstly there the very poor quality manual. Having paid so much for the recorder I think that we deserve a much better print quality and pictures we can read without a magnifying glass. Secondly I miss not having a visual feedback on the recorder showing what is currently happening. Thirdly I find the EPG far too spread out,the typeface too small and difficult read with the background programme showing. My old Humax was much easier to see and scroll through. Finally there is the issue of how many prgrammes can be recorded and watched simultaneously. The advertising specifies tha 4 programmes can be recorded and a different programme watched. However the paperwork with the recorder says that this option might be restricted.

The FVP-5000T works very well and has an easy to use on screen interface. Set up is easy and recording simple too. The only reason for not providing 5 stars is that it runs very hot when in use. I personally would not be happy with it being located in a place where air could not circulate freely around it to get some of the heat away!

Works easily out of the box, WiFi setup simple and reliable. Handset/control takes a little getting used to after using an older PVR for so long. Loss of picture after four hours when using TV tuner and not FVP 5000 disconcerting but settable in menu. Not used all functions yet but so far I am quite impressed. Footprint much smaller than the old unit so easier to accommodate. HDMI rather than SCART is more convenient.Excellent delivery service direct from Humax.

Seting up was straight forward. Good The not so good. The machine has frozen twice The type face is not as easy to read when scrolling through channels as my old Humax Sometimes when doing a recording the red clock does not appear so you do not know if it is going to record or not Switching to the record menu takes time and sometimes it takes several press of the button to get the desired menu. I hope this has been constructive criticism so the product can be enhanced because I like the added features over my old machine. Regards j Diffley

This has been a very disappointing purchase. Surprisingly difficult to control. Frequently unable to watch a programme as the guide screen keeps superimposing itself. The machine is incredibly noisy and slow to respond to remote operation. I hate it.

Bought two FVP-5000T 1TB recorders for friends of mine and so far they have been very happy with them. 1TB memory essential as there is so much stuff to record that lots of it just never gets watched! Easy to use once you get used to it. The only irritant I found was the opaque menu screen was spoiling the clarity of the on screen menu and I had to find the means to disable it. Easy once you read the instructions. I've been using Humax for years and never had a problem.
