“This was a replacement for a dual receiver Humax to avoid having to record additional programs on my smart TV. It took a while to get over the fact that the user interface is different. However, the FVP-5000T is considerably more responsive and is much better served with catchup TV features. Programming recordings is better supported than with the old model.
I miss three things. Firstly, I miss being able to jump forward and backwards by a set number of minutes during playback. It made skipping the adverts much easier! The fast forward is a reasonable alternative.
Secondly, I miss being able to jump to the Schedule from the Guide display. Instead, I have to go to Recordings and step down to the Schedule panel. If I don't find the program I want in the Schedule, I have to exit that mode and then navigate through the Guide pages.
Finally, I miss being able to find a program in the guide and just click the info button for more information on the content. Instead, I have to use the Guide and click the OK button. It, no longer, immediately programs a recording, but shows an info page and gives recording options such as series or program. Return to the Guide is by the Back button. Clicking info on and off with the info button was much simpler.
So, any regrets? None whatsoever. This is, by far, the best Humax of the three I have owned.”
“Very pleased with the Humax 5000t, this the second unit I have owned and the improvement is very noticeable, along with its ease to set up and use. Only one comment about this unit is the indicator led on the underside of the unit could be placed in a more visible place. Great unit though.”
“This is my second Humax which I had to replace as it stopped working. I like the wider range of facilities in this latest model and the fact that it is considerably faster to navigate through the programme recording process. However recording and deleting programmes is now more complicated and laborious than it used to be ... making it too easy to accidentally delete unseen programmes.”

“Issue with CEC pin on HDMI. Needed adaptor to block pin 13 to Sony Bravia TV. Interference caused to ARC connection to Sony sound bar.
Tuning off the CEC in Humax menu not enough.
