A few obvious tweaks on the t4000 which I like.

Humax player not as good as previous humax. Doesn’t seem to receive signals as well. Not as clear to use either. But will persevere.

I have used a Satellite recorder (Foxsat) for many years. The FVP-5000 was bought as I was becoming increasingly frustrated with the Foxsat being limited to recording 2 programmes at once. The FVP is a more compact machine than the Foxsat; the main menu of the FVP is a big improvement on the old machine, and it does allow me to overcome the problems with the old - 5 stars. However, there are niggles. A 'On/Off' LED on the front fascia of would be much clearer to see that the reflected type fitted to the FVP. The biggest problem that I have is copying files onto a USB stick (for radio to play in the car) which with the FVP takes an age - practically real time to copy. In fact I have had to re-instate my geriatric Foxsat for this purpose as it is so much more quicker to copy a file than the FVP.

Ordering was excellent it was sent out next day had all the delivery notification, but was delivered by DHL who sent a text at 0915hrs to tell me it was to be delivered around lunchtime. We were out but I thought that it would be ok but no parcel left as it needed a signature ( during covid !) every other delivery I have had has been no problem even though some item were far more expensive this. Then I tried to rearrange delivered and had to wait a week for it. 2nd time ok because we had plenty of notice that there was going to be a delivery . Delivery part extremely disappointing.

Compared with my previous BT box this one is clunky. Yes it does the job but it plods. I think in trying to make sure you get to do what you want to do it introduces many steps to safeguard against error e.g. deleting when you did not want to! This model can record more than 2 channels so rarely do I find I cannot record all I wish to record. If, like me you are in an area with low download width then it can be slow but it will get there.

The Humax FVP-5000T works really well for us. The remote and menu system is easy to navigate, and the very handy TV on/off plus AV buttons are useful as my old TV doesn't switch on using the HDMI link. Downside is that the first one I received suffered from excess vibration, which appeared to be an out of balance hard drive. Whilst Humax sent me a replacement, surely Humax should have resolved this at the product QC stage. It was so bad it was noisily vibrating the unit it was standing on and I could even feel it in the floor. Hence just the 4* - it would have been 5* otherwise.

Seemingly a very good replacement for ageing problematical bt freeview box. Very good spec. May well consider one for my other tv. Only problem was direct order email not received giving rise to warranty registration issue. Now resolved.
