Easy to connect and use as I've had Humax Recorders before.

5 star but only after adding a Lindi 'less' adaptor to block conn 13 in HDMI. Before that it is useless with Sony TV and soundbar. Ref many phone calls and much agro.

Although this works fine, it is slow. If I hadn't had Sky or BT beforehand, then this would not be a problem as I would know no different. I find it slow to turn on (warm up) and then slow to respond when you change channel, having to select the channel, wait for it to respond, then press again to initiate. I am not very happy with it and would not recommend. As moving house took longer than expected, I am too late to return it sadly.

Compared to our previous Panasonic Freeview recorder, bought when Humax were not doing Freeview, this box is way better in ALMOST every respect. Startup from powered off takes 16 seconds, a bit slow! The ability to watch/record 4 programmes as advertised seems not always reliable - on several occasions, it switched what we were watching to a programme that was starting to record. OK, our TV has Freeview too, so we can watch via that - just a bit more fiddly. Apart from this the one Humax remote does everything. Generally pretty happy though!

Arrived with fault. Humax agreed to swap, but no replacement sent. Even emails to vip@humaxonline.co.uk got just bulls**t. No word for a month by which time I had put in dispute via Paypal to get a refund. Soon after Humax decided to do something but by now too late. Totally useless customer service and sales departments. Have used Humax boxes since the 1990's but never again.

When I plug the aerial into the box, I get a small number of Freeview channels. When I put the aerial in the old tv, I get all Freeview channels. MU old tv can't be superior tec. An engineer confirmed that the signal is fine and he can't bump it up. I raised it with Customer services, who were very helpful. It is waiting to be send back, but I am on the waiting list for that, because the Repair Dept is too busy . 2 weeks and counting. If it all worked swimmingly I can see it would be a good purchase, for now it is creating only hassle
