“Usual Humax quality, time will tell whether a refurbished one falls over but so far great. Feels quality and that’s helped by the round-nature of the casing. Invariably resort to Humax as a default and even my original Fox, bought before the digital Chanel change many years ago and my 8000 PVR is still going strong. Highly recommend.”
“Excellent product does exactly what was promised. Freeview type reception supplies many more channels than normal Freeview and with no digital pixelation whatsoever, whereas terrestrial Freeview was almost unwatchable, with very few channels in my area. So this was a great substitute. Refurbed model so at a very reasonable price. The HDMI output is fine. Also the separate digital sound output is far superior to my non smart TV sound capability and so am using the optical sound output instead of the analogue output (for which I needed to get a TOSLINK cable, freely available). So the sound output is directly to my amplifier and speaker system, by passing the TV sound completely (apart from the hdmi image of course). In fact you could use it without a TV at all if you had a moinitor with a free input HDMI port. Would you still need a TV licence I expect so!”
“I wanted an uptodate freesat box for my touring caravan setup to replace a very basic box supplied with the original kit. I already have a foxsat recorder for my home set up so i knew Humax was good quality gear, having said that the refurbished units must have been faulty when new? The unitt i have works fine and is indistinguishable from new.”
