Machine looks good and works well, only downside is TV guide it’s vveerryy slow. Have used Humax boxes for years this one better in many ways once you get used to it. But like I saw the guide is PANTS.

The unit is neat and compact. Setting up was simple and quick. Indeed the easiest piece of equipment I have ever had to set up. This is a refurbished unit and the picture is not as sharp as I would like despite make numerous adjustments to both this unit and my TV.

The box works well and the remote control works better than the one on the FOXSAT HDR that it replaces. The main reason for replacing the old box was that the BBC changed the format of i-Player so that I couldn't use it any more, Humax could have upgraded the software for the old box but chose not to. I was disappointed that no instruction book came with the refurbished box and even more disappointed that a request to customer support to supply one didn't even get an automatic acknowledgement. Without any instructions it's been a bit of a voyage of discovery finding out how to work the box and I'll probably never know its full capability.

A problem with the first 'refurb' box we received meant that it wouldn't connect to wifi once the software was upgraded after initialisation. Humax Customer Care were excellent and immediately replaced the box by courir the following day. The second 'refurb' box worked correctly and has now been in use for around 5 weeks and works perfectly as advertised. It can also connect to my personal cloud and access any stored movies or tv programmes. I suppose the EPG and record/playback graphics are a little functional and basic in appearance, but they work fine. Maybe the next generation of the FVP will have a more swept up presentation. But the most important thing is it does the job well.

This is my 3rd refurbished Humax over a number of years and they get better every upgrade, its not that the others broke in fact there still working in different places I just wanted to upgrade my system, and so pleased with this model it does a lot more than I thought it would its a bit trickier to use and I don't like the way it lists the recorded programs its all there just a bit more complicated but I guess in time i'll get used to it, but on the plus side the Wi-Fi is great and all the apps work really well and are very easy to use and the Netflix app has so much more options on this model.

It arrived quickly and, as far as I can tell, in perfect, as new condition. It replaces an old DTR-T2000 which had been playing up. Mostly it's an improvement, but would be even better if: 1. It had DEDICATED step=forward and step backwards buttons 2.It would identify programmes in words only, instead of treating me like a halfwit who can only identify a programme if shown a poor quality irrelevant still. 3. It was possible to control TV sound volume from the HUMAX remote control. That said, I'd buy it again - and I'd certainly save money by buying a refurbished model.
