“This item did not perform as described. It decided for itself to revert to a programme that ended at least 2 hours previously, whilst watching a deferred programme. This happened twice in one evening during Strictly. It spoiled our viewing as it showed Frozen, twice, and would not go back to the position it left Strictly. It would only start from the beginning of the show, or live, which was ahead of where we left it. Extremely frustrating. The following day we removed the box and organised a refund of the £159 paid.
Afterwards we looked for a Humax dtr t2000 1TB second hand. Found one within a week and bought it. It does perform exactly as it should, and has a become a good partner to our Fox T2. Yes we have 2 boxes, but still, for less than £50, we can record on 4 tuners, and have catch up tv. Just what the FVP 4000t 1TB should have done in one box.
Maybe the 4000 is too smart for its own good, as we did find the remote control a bit complicated and not in any way intuative. The on screen display of recordings was much better on the old foxT2, as they put each episode in a file. That is something that is missing from the 4000, so, not an improvement.
We did not like the Brown, sorry, Mocha case, it does not fit in with black or silver, as most products are these days.
