“In general the FVP-400T is very good. You can hear a small amount of noise from the HDD etc when turned on but it's not noticeable. It looks good enough and is quite small so should fit easily into most spaces. It has Freeview Play functionality which gives access to the big catchup services. The ability to record and watch so many channels is great and the hard drive space is very good in the 1TB model.
My reason for giving this 4 out of 5 stars is that the program guide and other menus aren't great and the device itself is quite slow to respond to input. The guide etc is probably set up so that it's readable on most screens but everything seems a little too big to me. Also there's no program information available when looking at what's on unless you go into the details for the selected program. However, since it can take a second or two to bring up that information it feels very clunky and so quickly becomes tiring. Most functions (including switching channels, opening up menus, opening recordings) all take much longer to happen than is ideal. Enough that you're waiting around wishing it was a bit quicker.”
“Same software as the FVP-5000T (which I also have) but cheaper. Excellent machines. You can play recordings across the network between machines and on a mobile app. Handy to be able to set up a recording remotely.”
“The first one I received would not record ,but a phone to humax sorted that problem,I was sent another
recorder of the same spec by courier which I received two days later. Replacement recorder is very good I have had a number of recorders over the past few years and have never had any problem with any of them. This recorder does all that I want from recorder I rate it A++”
