Not as good as my original recorder. Seems to take a long time to waks up and respond. Some channels don't record properly (ITV 3 for example). The playback is very poor. I also get messages saying the signal is very poor ir not available. None of these problerms with my old box.

The response to the remote control is extremely slow leading to repeated attempts that may duplicate previous ones. The programme is less intuitive than my previous HDR-Fox T2. Overall a disappointing and backward step. Humax please respond by either a software update or a new model that more closely performs as the HDR-Fox T2.

Constant problems since purchase, message saying poor signal but connecting the aerial lead directly to the TV gives perfect picture! Swtching the machine off and back on again gives limited services. I have experienced seeing programmes in sepia tones with no colour and poor contrast alongside various other "technical problems".. I bought the machine to make my wife's life easier, it has been the exact opposite. Very disappointed.

This is my fourth generation of Humax recorder and I was reluctant to buy a FVP-4000 since many of the reviews at launch complained that it lacked some of the good features of the FOX T2. But it seems that most of the complaints have been dealt with by software upgrades or in some cases the reviews had not explored the controls sufficiently. Some of the instructions could be expanded. The only feature I am missing (maybe I have not found it yet) is creating folders on the built-in Hard Drive for filing recordings. I like to have an archive folder for things I want to keep long term. You can export recordings via the USB port. I do like the "Smart" retune which does not delete the "to be recorded" settings.

Very good picture quality, quite easy to set up and connect with wifi. Only negative comment is that on my previous Humax recorder I could skip over adverts one at a time by pressing a button at bottom of recorder control (Humax PVR-9300T) and this was easier, faster and more precise than using fast forward on FVP-4000T. I may be able to do same thing on FVP-4000T but I have not yet found out how to do it. I tried using > and < to go forward and backward but they do not appear to work in same way as my previous Humax recorder.

A couple of small hiccups occasionally are still part of start up procedure sometimes. The menus are clear and epg programming is fine. Overall the good feature is 4 recording tuners and 1 TB of space which is around 250 hours of HD recording

Bought as a present for my son, very inpressed with it. The only annoying feature is the programme schedule is to large, not allowing a good overall view of scheduled programes.

Great that it can record 3 programmes at once. Excellent amount of storage. Very clunky to operate. Hangs up occasionally. Does not want to switch on picture if it is already recording a programme.Needs an extra light to distinguish between recording and off.
