“Just bought a digibox Humax FVP-4000T Mocha. Has 500gig storage but this gets used faster when it insists on recording in HD, and there isn't an easy way to check how much of its storage capacity Is needed for its functionality, or even how much I've recorded so far.
It uses Freeview, which suits me. Its Instruction manual is sketchy, and printed in grey on poor quality paper, so it's not easy to read. There are many things I still can't make it do, eg correcting the clock time shown.
A major disadvantage is that the type size in its programme guide is far smaller than on my old digibox (also Humax), so I have to move closer to the screen to read it. I'm happy that it can pick up not only iPlayer, but also the equivalents for ITV, ch4 and ch5. I'm also glad that I can get UTube again, and also Netflix if I want to pay for that in the future. It can't get alJazeera news, which I'll miss, as al-J provides a different slant in world news compared to the BBC and Sky. I don't use the WiFi, so I can't comment on that. And I haven't yet learned detailed features such as editing recordings (if they exist).
It's ok for a basic box.
In the first few weeks it hasn't yet gone wrong but I have had to pull the plug on it/ crash it when it doesn't appear to work properly. But it may be because I'm still learning the new interface, which is markedly different from my previous Humax box.”
“Easy to set up and use but one drawback is the response from the remote, its very slow compared to other Humax products I've owned. It can connect to other products on my home network and can stream to and from my PC. I bought the add on H3 media streamer as I have a TV player account, they both compliment each other. I'd have given a higher rating if Humax fixed the remote response. One other thing, the recommended phone apps for remote recording etc aren't up to much in my experience. Again they're very slow and sometimes remote record works other times not.”

An essential if like me you use Freesat with good program guide and lots of recording space.”
