“After repeated manual retuning and firmware upgrades I am still having problems recording programs. The latest is a replacement PSAu which I am waiting a further 3-5 days to receive. Will this fix the issues?? Wait and see as this has been going on for a month already.”
“This product as delivered doesn't work. I've already had two replaced due to an inability to record programs. Humax technical support have been helpful and arranged replacement units but the problem persists.
Some self support via the myhumax forum has identified that it shipped with the wrong power supply. Hopefully a replacement will be provided and the product will then work.”
“Machine worked very inconsistently. Sometimes it would switch on when the remote control was pressed, other times not. Similarly, the other functions were erratic too. Drove my wife mad!”
“I need to preface this: I didn't keep the machine because it didn't live up to spec - as described by Humax staff on the phone. I travel a lot. At home is a Humax DTR-T2000 YouView. It allows me to send "record TV show" requests when I'm away through a YouView app on my iPhone. Would the newer Humax FVP-4000T allow me to do the same, I asked Humax Direct? Yes. So I bought. I installed, impressed with how effortlessly the box connected to the two wifi networks at home during set-up. I read the manual but what I wanted to know about the smartphone app wasn't there. So now I made three phone calls to Humax Tech Support over a period of three days. I was given three different answers each time I called. It began with the app won't work the way you want it, but should do probably by the end of the week as the software is being tweaked. [In case you didn't know: YouView and Freeview are not the same; both might run on a Humax-built machine. But the way they work is different.] Second call introduced more doubts about the app's ability to send record requests while away. The third call clinched it: no it won't work the way you want [as per the YouView app] and a return of goods was agreed immediately and a full refund given. So I bought another DTR-T2000 YouView model - this time from John Lewis which gives a 2-year guarantee!. But I'm disappointed. I feel Humax is letting down its customer base because the newer FVP-4000T has three recording heads [enabling four programmes to be recorded simultaneously, rather than two] and connects wirelessly to wifi networks. Thank you to the support staffer who put me straight at Humax Direct. But really Humax this is an age where an app should do more than just change channel and adjust volume [in other words behave as a normal handset remote]. You make the boxes. Be smart[er] please. Final note: my latest buy is the fifth Humax box I've bought. Two of them have been refurbished models and they've all worked well.”
“The unit arrived as promised and was easy to set up, just like previous Humax PVRs I have owned. Unfortunately something failed with the hard disc access resulting in the unit not being able to pause live Tv, record anything, or watch what had been recorded. Humax arranged a replacement box which worked initially but after 24 hours with power on exhibited the same fault. A complete reset to defaults brings everything back to life and you can see recorded programs. Humax are still looking into the problem, but I am now a month into owning this device.
After being extremely happy with previous Humax I would not recommend Humax anymore!!”
“Found the guide on this model not as good as the previous as information of program not shown on first screen before. Also seems to bea fault as the signal strength guy but set breaks up picture the signal strength is constant”
