“I have rated it Good as the only thing that has changed from what I see is the fact it has a bigger memory but it still tells you not to go deleting what you have watched as it has plenty of Memory, to me that is what mucked up my last recorder after 2 years and one month plus I thought I would be able to record more than on programme on two different channels at least, but no it doesn't like it, it tells you to cancel one recording and wqatch it instead ?”
“Very good, still getting used to it. One little niggle - the indicator light red/blue is difficult to see positioned where it is making it difficult to see if it is on or in standby mode.”
“Does what it says on the tin. I think Humax need to work on the user interface though. There are generally far too many button presses on the remote to get to where you want to go, for example watching a recording or deleting a recording once you've watched it. If Humax could take this on board and make operation slicker I'd have no hesitation in awarding the box 5 stars.”
“It has taken me a while to get my head around in learning how to use it.I am getting there but it has a mind of its own sometimes. There is no way of deleting recorded programmes quickly after seeing them as there is no delete button, a process has to be followed before you can delete. I am not sorry that I bought it as other options with sky virgin and BT are a rip off and for one price you get a lot of channels free besides the usual BBC 1, 2 4,5etc . The picture & HD are excellent and I particularly like the way you can jump ahead to a day you want to record something this is really good and fast. A downside is the time it takes to warm up it is not instant, but I am getting used to this and turn it on before I am ready to sit and watch.”
“The new Humax box is very good and has extra failities which weren't available on my previous model.
I have a couple of grumbles! It was useful to have the 'time remaining' display on the front of the box and it doesn't automatically go in to 'screen saver' mode when held on pause. I was told that I needed this to protect my plasma screen.
Other than that, it is easy and straightforward to use”
“I previously had a FoxSat but after 6-years it started to stop being able to record - so I thought it was time to upgrade.
This is a lot more compact. I find the Menu system a big improvement - as is the remote control which buttons are a lot more 'positive'.
Whilst the FoxSat indicated what programme you are on - this one doesn't however I don't find it an issue as the TV Programme itself usually displays what side you're on - so its not something that is required and presumably this helps reduce the size of the unit.
There is a small light that projects down onto whatever the box is standing on - and this is red when the unit is off and blue when on. Although quite discrete - it is still effective.
The picture quality is excellent. All in all I think this is a great product and would thoroughly recommend it.”
