“Much nicer looking than my original and seems more simple to operate. I live in France and so cannot use Internet services as you cannot install a VPN.
The fan seems a bit noisy and the box seems to get hot.

“Bought the HDR-1100S to replace Sky recorder due to contract cancellation and move to Freesat. The Humax functionally is very similar Sky box but can be a little slower to respond to control handset.The handset quality is OK but prefer to have improved quality and layout. Also can be slow to turn on Freesat from standby and take several attempts. However other than these slight irritations are pleased with the Humax recorder and feel a much more cost effective way to watch TV , Sport and Films than being tied into a contract”
“Unfortunately bought a couple of boxes from Humax. Within a few days of install, boxes started to play up, after speaking to Humax found these needed a software update as they had been sent out with 2017 software!!!! The boxes are not connected to the internet as there is no internet available where they are located, therefore I am unable to update them. Only one was going faulty at the time but when I spoke of the other box, I basically got laughed at and told 'oh yes, that one will started playing up soon too'. After care service is completely useless despite them selling a product that was technically not fit for purpose when they despatched it.”
“Good cost effective alternative to the sky/Virgin/BT services, only two minor negative points,
1. Hard drive is noisey (I would have expected solid state drives to be used in latest models.
2. Where is on Demand for Channel 4? I can get it on my phone, ipad and PC so why not on a STB?!?”
“Replaced the old one who's hard drive would not hold recordings so I brought a replacement hard drive and it still would not hold recordings, so it must have been the ???? although all other functions worked, so better I brought a new one so I can record.”
