Humax HDR-1800T 320GB Freeview HD Recorder Reviews

4.5 Rating 48 Reviews
I have no problems with the performance of the Humax HDR-1800T. However, I have issues with the support network. When I tried to register the box, it would only allow me to register it in the USA, not the UK. Therefore the apps that I would like to load, ITV catchup or Allfour catchup are not available. Those that are, quite frankly are can only be described as either not available or rubbish!

I bought this because we have been so pleased with our older larger version. It seems to work well enough but I'm a little disappointed that there is no display on the front. Our old machine has a clock and displays how far along the programme has to go. This model is however smaller, lighter and visually unobtrusive

Owned Humax for a number of years, planned for 2nd unit in bedroom and 3rd on my boat. Absolutely recommended this product to everyone!!! Gave me faultless service recording serials and programme search. I always have something good to watch. Until recently- - I believe it maybe to do with new privacy laws and possibly needing to agree with them through the Humax portal online. I've tried repeatedly the factory reset with little or no change. Whatever the reason. 6boxs later and still not working !! It now means Humax are no longer a viable product for me !!! Despite now trying 6 different Humax box's. None have worked correctly!!!! Would not select or stay on channel, can't move recording, volume icon stays on screen or turns volume down by itself. Such a shame, It was a excellent product. Fond memories

Pleased with purchase BUT: How can I get rid of words at top left of screen (HDM13 / icon / 1080i/50) as they hide part of picture? I assume "text" does not work whilst in HD mode? In "text" mode it can show "Please wait" but it never progresses - I seem to resolve this by changing to BBC2 and back again. Would welcome advice. For the record we only appear to pick up 23 TV programmes in Jersey (missing such as UKTV History, G.O.L.D., Dave, etc) Cheers John Shield
