“This is my 2nd HDR 2000T refurbished, the 1st one is still working perfectly & keeping me supplied with plenty of recorded programs to watch. I've only been using the 2nd one since just before Christmas & it is equally doing a superb job. I highly recommend Humax pvr's & the refurbished one's are just like new.”

“The first unit Humax shipped to me was preinstalled with outdated software despite the Humax website saying that all units are shipped with latest software pre-installed. Soon after receipt, initial power-up, user set-up & software update, this unit started to become unresponsive to remote or direct inputs. I managed to record one program & initially, this recording was listed within the appropriate menu but this menu then failed to respond when going back to it later the same evening. Overnight, this unit powered down by itself which in itself is okay but I never managed to power it back up again. Humax offered to replace the unit but only the unit - I was told to retain all the accessories including the remote & plug / power adapter - this despite me suggesting that it might be either of these that is contributing to or actually causing the fault.
The second unit arrived with the latest software pre-installed but within an hour of set-up & use, this unit too powered itself down - I never managed to power it after that.
Communicating with the Humax Customer Support department was equally frustrating as trying to get their products to work. They were reasonably helpful once I managed to make contact but my emails went unanswered for a couple of days & without exception, all my calls were held in a queue for over 20 mins before they were answered.
Humax wanted me to try a third unit but by this time, I'd had enough & eventually, Humax agreed to collect the second unit & refund my money in full - but whilst they are able to take initial payment immediately on order placement, they apparently needed nearly 3 weeks (and a reminder phone call) to process a refund after they'd taken receipt of the returned unit.
I was a loyal customer of Humax Direct but I'll never put myself through this again - it was a very disappointing experience - bordering on the disgraceful.”
“Disappointed. 2 days after setting it up it could no longer see the hard drive, requiring a factory reset to resolve. It regularly loses its network connection and has so far twice got stuck in a seemingly endless reboot loop on power-up.”
“Worked straight out of the box. Similar to a previous model so interface was familiar. This was just slimmer with more memory. Hard to tell it was a refurbished model. Not state of the art, but this is a good thing to me (as I have a newer model for another room and don't like it nearly as much)”
