“This is the third refurbished product I have purchased from Humax (it could even be the fourth) as I have previously been impressed. There is no perceptible difference between a new product and a refurbished one. This particular purchase was for an elderly friend who isn't comfortable with buying online and I recommended it as it is identical to my own and I could assist with any issues she had.
Initially she had an issue with the unit going into standby - she was convinced that it was faulty and packaged it up ready for return. Eventually I discovered that 'automatic power down' was set so that unit went into standby after 3 hours inactivity - something that has never been set on my own unit. If a similar setting is available on new units then I suggest that the factory setting should be 'off' to avoid similar confusion. She is now happy with the unit.
The unit was NOT supplied with the latest version of software, so I download this and installed it prior to passing it over.”
