Freeview HD Recorder HDR-2000T 500GB (Refurbished) Reviews

4.1 Rating 114 Reviews
To replace my many-years-old 1800T which eventually had small disk-drive faults, the refurbished 2000T is a good choice, good price, delivered quickly, and is working fine. The menus and screen displays have been improved. The way it works is easy enough to learn and use. No problems in the first few weeks and a year's warranty if any snag does develop. As part of getting this refurbished one, I had good advice and information from the customer service department.

The recorder seems to be working ok but can hear the hard drive chattering away all the time when not watching anything, very annoying!

It’s a great HDR, but the Harddisk is too noisy - as it is recording all the time it chatters away and is the first Humax I have had where the disk noise is obtrusive.

I bought this to replace my old Humax PVR 9300T which was wonderfully user friendly but had been skipping on playback for some time. This new machine seems to work well and reliably but a few features are less user friendly than the old one. I don't like that there's no visual display on the front, so you can't instantly see how far through watching a programme you are. Nor is it even easy to see whether the machine is switched on, because the indicator light shows red for off (standby), blue for on, but red for on but currently recording! So if you use the remote to switch it on and it's currently recording, the light goes from red to ... red! Another minor complaint is that because it organises all series linked recording into folders, you can't view a list of all recordings on the machine in date order, which was possible on the old machine, in fact it was the default view. However, it does work reliably and if this had been the first PVR I'd ever owned I'd probably be completely happy with it. It's just a pity that Humax seem to have gone backwards with some of the features.
