“The refurbished item is indistinguishable from a new one. I am using it as a set-top box for an analogue TV in a second room and, with the aid of a power-line Wifi adapter kit, can view videos etc on other Wifi-enabled items around the home - as well as being able to record to the HDR 2000T. A disappointment is that, for the HDR 2000T to record a timed recording, it must be switched on (rather than on standby) which means using much more energy. Another drawback is that there is no display on the HDR 2000T to indicate the machine's status - just an LED that shows red for standby and blue for "on".”
“This is our 5th Humax recorder, and was bought refurbished for the camper van. We already use one in the home which has caused us very few issues for many years. This review is more about Humax customer service than the unit. The first unit arrived and was completely dead on arrival. A quick email to customer service, and a few tests to confirm that the unit was dead, and a replacement was immediately dispatched. The dead unit was swapped with the new one when the courier arrived the next day. A totally painless swap-out. Further to receiving the replacement, I had a user-created issue (ie my misunderstanding of a power-up function), and I have to single out and give high praise to Colin at Humax customer support, for the total dedication and infinite patience to solving my issue. He even emailed me on a weekend early morning to check things were working properly. I can't think of another company that I've had to deal with which has had such outstanding customer support, especially considering this was a (cheaper) refurbished unit. I would have absolutely no hesitation about recommending Humax and their units.”
