“Box is good but customer service awful. Ordered the box as a return, they usually come good as new and the 1st did. However 2 days later the Dtrt2000 was waking up in maintenance mode overnight. To cut a long story short it did it every day so couldn't be left to record anything. I've had Humax products for years so did the various resets and software updates but same problem every day. I emailed Humax on first day of problem, no reply..then day 2, and day 3 copying to a number of email addresses...the addresses you see on their website and invoice, never a reply. Increasingly frustrated into 2nd week found an older address from dealing with them 2 years ago. No reply. I also tweeted about poor service. No response to tweet but next morning got a reply to the last email. Basically 'we didn't get any of your other emails'. Believable in 1990, but not now. To cut along story short, no apologies or discussion but the customer service guy set up an exchange. Box exchanged and so far the Dtrt2000 is performing as it should. Good box, quicker than my Dtrt1000, also link it to an app on my phone to set recordings remotely. Top quality image, menus and players etc. No complaints so far. Quiet box. 4 stars for the box, 1 star Humax customer services. Not the first time its been mentioned. Seems the best way to get dealt with is online chat rather than email now.”
“Prior to this purchase I had a BT TV contract but the BT box lost some HD channels and would not find them on a retune. The support from BT regarding this problem was abysmal. I cancelled my BT TV contract and purchased the Humax box. I couldn't be more delighted.”
“I have given it 'acceptable' for the moment but was on the point of returning it a couple of days ago. Since then it has been reset and updated and is performing a little better. Problems are around unpredictable and erratic behaviour -- suddenly turning off in the middle of playing, refusing to turn on (needed to disconnect from mains), and its unacceptably long 'turn on' time unless left in permanent 'ready' state consuming an unacceptable amount of power with the hard drive running permanently. The so-called 'Smart energy saving' function seems to be anything but smart and there's no explanation of how it should actually behave. But when it works it's very good!”
