“We've had a Humax Freesat box for years and it has been faultless, hence the choice to pick Humax when we needed a second recording device to cover Freeview transmissions. The Youview box was chosen because it includes features needed over the basic Freeview services.
The device arrived very quickly, set itself up without a mummer and has been used now for several weeks weeks a hiccup.
For the price this is an excellent addition to the house for use by every one, particularly the facility to send recording requests using a phone directly to the box.
A good buy.
Only downside is the lack of display information on the fascia but this may be a result of Youview specification.”
“I bought this for my mother who doesn't have the internet, when I attempted to set it up there it wouldn't because it needs to be online to set it up.
I took it home to my house as I have internet and set it up for the first time then took it back to hers and it worked.
It's not a good choice if you don't have the internet, I know it says on the description that it's internet and terrestrial areal too, but you'd think you'd be able to use one or the other. I'm disappointing in the firmware on this and I think it should be changed for this reason, I would have rated this 5 star if not for this fact.”
“We have two of these and they suitor needs perfectly as they access iPlayer.
They also have scars output which suits the older tv.
It would be great if they could communicate across the home network avoiding the need to programme both separately.”
“First one ordered went wrong within a week. Replacement is a TalkTalk unit which seems to have different controls to the first. Now had about 3 weeks and keep getting a notice saying Anynet + device not connected, but I have no idea what an Anynet + device is. Once the notice disappears after about 2 minutes seems to work okay, but compared to my 2 previous Humax PVR's over many years these new Youview recorders seem a bit dodgy.”
“I'm very pleased with unit although it was a refurb I haven't seen any marks on the case and works well. I enjoy using the app on my tablet to program future recordings.”
“Thought I'd got a dud one at first, but appearsit was a problem with my existing HDMI cable! So now all is well, and enjoying the experience - an improvement in terms of functionality and performance from my (now defunct) DTR 1000.

“I’ve had a Humax PVR in the past and really enjoyed owning one because of its simplicity of use. When I needed to replace the unit my TV engineer suggested I consider buying a reconditioned Humax PVR, he suggested that the DTR-T2000 500 GB would be the most suitable. I found ordering online very straightforward and as promised the unit was delivered the next day. In my opinion the unit looked brand new and has like it’s predecessor providing all that I require from a PVR”
