The tuners in the Humax FVP-5000T 2TB were very poor compared to my old Humax DTR-T1000 500GB, purchased in 2012. The 5000T could not pick up the weaker stations that the T1000 could, and the picture quality was noticeably inferior to the T1000. I have a very good Samsung TV so the difference in picture quality was clear. It was so bad I asked for and received a replacement but it was no better, actually a bit worse. The utmost need for a TV PVR is good picture quality. The rest, like number of tuners, apps etc are of no value if the picture quality is compromised. It is a shame as the other abilities of the 5000T/H3 combo were attractive. For the above reasons I returned the product. PS. It took four phone calls, waiting on average 20mins each time, until the excellent "Andrew" pushed through my refund. It was only yesterday, 16 days after you receved the product back, that I got an email saying that I will be refunded in 5 to 7 days. The statutory time limit for a complete refund is 14 days! I could done have other things with the money in the meantime. Feel free to contact me about this if you wish. Philip Coombes.

The FVP-5000T is very easy to set up and to use. When playing back a recoding the picture breaks up/pixilates. This does not happen when watching the normal TV program without the unit on any of the televisions which are connected to the system. It constantly states that it was unable to record a program due to poor signal, however, the recording is made. With regards to the Human H3 Media Streamer, why they do not build in an RF Modulator is beyond me. The unit is very temperamental. I have this unit installed in the bedroom, sometimes it will re-play the recoding from the main unit, but most times a circle runs round for ever then decides to put radio Essex on which I have never requested or listened to. I have had a Human Free sat recorder fo many years which works well except when the programs slightly overrun and then it states Conflict, hence the reason I purchased the Freeview recorder which can record more channels at the same time. If only Human would spend a few more coppers on this unit, install an RF Modulator, sort out the pixilation problems, it would be quite a good unit.
