“On my 2nd FVP 4000 now, AND same faults, hangs, need to pull power to reboot and then all recordings the go into fail (failed due to power loss message). I only bought for recording too. I’m currently not impressed and will be logging my last and final support call (of many) when I return. Unless the 3rd box works, then I will not be recommending this product and be asking for a full refund. Media entertainment nope, media hell”
“Not had a chance to evaluate the H3 Media Streamer as yet however I do have one complaint so far regarding the FVP-5000T and that is :- the hard drive is very noisy. I am not overly happy about that. Considering how long I had the previous Fox version which was very quiet, I find the new one a little disappointing.”
“Reasonably ok but not a big improvement on the DTR-2000 we had before. It crashed within a few days and the matching media unit was useless. The access to video files from the main box is rediculously basic and the TV guide would not work even after latest software update. I returned both boxes for a refund and back on the old DTR-2000 for now until someone brings out a proper PVR with a proper slave box system like the Sky Q gear but for Freevie/YouView.”
“The freeview player is fantastic, and easy to use. The H3 is good, but I extected it to also play catch-up TV such as BBC Iplayer, but it does let you connect to recordings on the freeview recorder.”
“A bundle relatively easy to set up but the interface takes a little bit of getting used to on the H3, and setting the FVP-5000 T so that it is available to access from the H3 was accomplished after some online chat guidance. However, all is nor working well. There is one minor niggle with the FVP (which may well be addressed with a future firmware update) and that is the periodic loss of the catch up services, despite the wifi settings showing that all is connected to the internet. This means that previous programmes in the EPG are not populated and therefore not accessible. I understand this is a common complaint. The only way to correct this is to completely switch off and reboot the FVP or the router. It would be helpful to have a "refresh" option in the internet settings menu. At the same time, Netflix and other internet based services seem to be available.
Come on Humax. You need to find a fix for this as it appears to be a software problem on your part.
That said, we are enjoying our new purchase.”
