“The camera is very good and usually records consistently. Very occasionally, though, it fails to record me or my wife when we walk down our path, yet records small plants moving in the wind.
Although the camera performs as I would expect, I'm afraid that the Y-cam app (for Android) is rather unreliable. Quite often, when I open the app on my phone, I receive the message "this recording cannot be shown" (or words to that effect). On such occasions, it is impossible to access any information or setting, even if I close and re-open the app. The only way I can overcome this is by uninstalling the app and downloading and installing it again. Not the fault of Humax, of course, but perhaps they can arrange for an alternative, and more reliable app, to be used by their cameras.”
“Easy to set up and use, the location feature is useful, but being in a bad reception area, we sometimes have to wait for the mobile to be recognised before deactivation of the cameras.”
“A well made bit of kit that is easy to set up. On IOS the app works well. The image cannot be zoomed, so if you need this feature look for other kit. I have it looking at a garden. Adapts nicely to sun/shade. At this price it is a very reasonable purchase. It is not a top-end camera but is very good and better than my DLink cameras (except for zooming the image on screen)”
