Used a wifi extender to get coverage into my garage, then put the Humax camera in the garage.
Even better, as the camera back is magnetic, I just stuck it to a metal box. simple.
works great night and day. Now hoping they do an external version!”
“Very easy to connect and for two weeks worked very well. But then it disconnected and no matter what would not work again. Even with the assessment of the HelpDesk.
Still waiting for a replacement after two weeks.”
“I had great difficulty in getting the camera to connect to the internet. It would not detect my normal wireless router, although the router is well within the specified range for the camera. Other devices would detect the router when placed where I wanted the camera to go. I then tried to connect it to a different router, but the camera software froze. I tried everything I know to reactivate it, but to no avail, so I returned it to Humax as unfit for purpose. Humax promised me a refund, but it has still not reached my card account 30 days after their courier collected the faulty product. It is a pity because the camera is obviously well-constructed, but let down by its poor software.”
“Had problems to start with. Going off line and the only way to get in back on was to switch off the power then on again. Red flashing light, again having to switch off the power then on again. Not turning on and off when going out even with location on. I did a reset and deleted camera in the app and reinstalled the camera, fingers crossed it seems to be ok now. The app wants to be improved, in settings- Wi-Fi Settings I always get “Error try again”. Also when out I get little red number one on the app but when you click on it, nothing, and it disappears.”
“Impressed with the camera, using it internally to look out of a window and it works well though you need to disable night mode (infra red) and have it looking at a lit area. It was a much less expensive alternative to getting another Netatmo Presence camera installed externally. Free for 7 days cloud storage so you should be able to download any clips you want to keep in that time, motion triggering is generally working well (some false alerts caused by shadows of trees, car lights) but no different to my Netatmo experience. I think the only thing it cannot do that my Netatmo can is make a 1 minute time-lapse of the last 24 hours. Recommend.”
