As a newbie to coffee I've been trying various options and taster sets. I've been really impressed with the HR Higgins coffees so far. The taste is much more like I was looking for, with less bitterness and more of that flavoursome aftertaste you can savour. I've tried the 1942 Blend and the Creole blend. The 1942 seemed VERY caffeine-y (I was extremely awake after that) but tasty and balanced. The Creole had a stronger flavour and seemed like it probably had less caffeine, but the aftertaste was just lovely. Would recommend. Will be trying them both again when I've got the money.

We enjoyed the three varieties over a weekend, with enough to share with my family after lunch on a Sunday. The experience of the sample package and the accompanying leaflets are very much worth £5.

Good selection, though having a light roast for comparison would have been nice. Zero complaints on quality, it was all amazing - just not all to our taste, which is the purpose of a taster kit after all. Each sample was enough for our large moka pot.
