“I chose this colour scheme because it matches my Cube Touring bicycle. I haven't found it to be the most comfortable helmet to wear - yet. Some sort of comfort-band where it makes contact with the head might improve that. As others have commented, it is fiddly to adjust when fitting; especially in my case, as I have a very long face/head. I haven't been able to adjust this helmet in a way that prevents the buckle under the jaw from digging in to my Adams Apple, which is very uncomfortable. I am going to have to devise a pad to fit under the buckle, as found on the (Arai) helmet I wear on my motorcycle. Apart from, perhaps, an insect screen, I can't think of any other improvements I would suggest at this stage. The extra weight of the HedKayse, compared to the one-hit types, is not an issue for me as I'm used to motorcycle helmets. In conclusion, I think that the HedKayseIONE Sport Dark is an attractive, well made (in Britain too!) cycle helmet that has room for improvement in some areas. Compared to the usual helmet type it is definitely good value for money over the long term. Mine will probably outlast me (I'm nearly 68 yer know :-) but that didn't stop me buying it. As a motorcyclist, I am well aware off how important head protection is, and I know that, should I come to grief on my bicycle, I have the best protection I could get.”
