“On the recommendation of a naturopath animal healer, I've been giving this to my George, my Jack Russell for the 3 years he has been in my life. I am sure it has improved the quality of his coat and skin. When he came to me as a rescue the vets had warned of arthritis too. I don't know if that was true, but he walks at such a pace I find it hard to keep up with him (and he just turned 16) so I would recommend it without hesitation.”

“Too early to say if this is helping my dog's health issue but it feels good quality and she absolutely loves it (which is an indication she needs it also and that it will help her). My very fussy dog also really likes it and a pipette of this dripped on her raw food helps her to eat more of it, so that is a win too. I am definitely purchasing more of this oil.”

“My cat took one sniff at the food he normally eats into which I only put a couple of drops to try first. He completely refused to eat it. It took a few days for him to trust that I hadn't added anything to his food, before he would eat normally again. Waist of money and made me worried about him.”

Hi Carl I am sorry to hear that your cat refused to eat his food with the fish oil on. Cats can be difficult when it comes to adding supplements to their food. If we do receive regular feedback that cats are not tolerating a product then we will flag this up or even state a product isnt suitable for cats. Supplements arent cheap and if a pet won't tolerate them, it is, like you say a waste of money. “My cat refused to touch this product, and the company refused to give me a refund. I work for a supplement retailer and we ALWAYS give refunds on products that are purchased, but then are quickly realised to not work (for whatever reason). Being a small independent retailer, it surprised me that Healthful Pets weren’t conscious of how a bad experience can affect business. I won’t be returning to them or buying any more Nordic Naturals. I also won’t be recommending either.”

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. We are sorry to hear that your cat refused to touch this product and also disappointed to hear that you were unhappy with our service. After you contacted us, we liaised with the UK Distributor for Nordic Naturals who said that they would make contact with Nordic Naturals in the US and get back to us if there had been any problems with the batch / reports of similar issues. We also hadn’t received any feedback relating to this batch. We explained that even though fish oil can have a number of benefits for cats in some instances a side effect associated with fish oil can be nausea or diarrhoea. We have been selling this product for many years and have not had any palatability issues reported. Cats sometimes can be fussy and if ever we start to receive negative feedback about a product then we will either stop selling it or add this information on the product description, so customers are aware. We try and help as best we can to make sure customers make the right decision. It is a shame that we don’t have samples to sell. I am sorry that we were unable to offer you a refund as we certainly don’t like to think we have let customers down, we will always endeavour to work with the customer to seek a resolution. We are only a small, independent business and are not the manufacturer of this product, so we are only able to offer refunds on products that are faulty in some way.
