“In 2011: After and during seven months of chemotherapy for lung cancer I lost my thick, coarse, long hair. I tried to hide the fact by wearing a wig and scarves which never looked natural and once the eyebrows went I looked very odd and nothing like the 'old me'. It started to come back just as my oncologist told me I needed to have a course of radiotherapy on my chest. Apparently I also needed radiotherapy on my brain to 'mop up' any rogue cells that may have lodged themselves there. I would lose my hair again and as the radiotherapy was mor aggressive than chemo the hair loss would be from the roots and may not re-grow. I had to accept the treatment telling myself hair loss was a small price to pay for getting better..
Five years later I was glad to be alive, but fed up with thin, fragile hair and only a thin fuzz across the top of my head. That's when I was introduced to Racoon and Hair Jelly! I haven't looked back! The fuzz strengthened and I now have clinical extensions to give me a FRINGE and the rest of my hair has thickened. It's softer than it used to be but that's probably because it's new hair. I feel like me again! My confidence has returned! My daughters have their mother back, almost as she was!
