Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am sorry to hear that the Kyra Gentle Face Wash Bar didn't work as expected. It should lather, but its a very light, creamy lather so it does not strip and dry the skin. We also do a kyra Gentle Face Wash in liquid form which creates more of a lather than the bar if you prefer more of a lather. The Face Wash Bar should lather a little although it is more light and creamy so it does not strip the skin. Our Kyra Gentle Face Wash (liquid form) does however produce more of a lather if that may be of interest to you. “I love this soap - it leaves your face feeling super soft, that's a feeling I've never experienced with any other face cleaning products...especially soap! Couldn't rate it any higher!”
