Is the product true to size?
After years of using fabric/leather boots/shoes, decided on a 'traditional' leather shoe and chose the Grisport Dartmoor after much research. The shoe appears well made and finished using good quality materials. Fit is true to size and allows the wearing of a good sock without pinching; plenty of room in the toe-box, avoiding painful toes after wearing! As noted in other reviews, the supplied insoles are thin and flimsy but replacement with better is easy. Never had a shoe with Vibram sole before (always sworn by Michelin soles) and can't see the reason for complaints by other reviewers. Grip is good on wet grass, mud and leaves, on level ground and moderate slopes and the sole stays relatively clog-free. Only worn twice 'in anger' so far, but very satisfied with sturdiness, support and waterproofness. Took a short while to adjust to walking in a heavier, traditional walking shoe rather than a lightweight one but not a problem. If they turn out to last as long as they look as though they will (with appropriate care, of course) I won't have to replace for a good while - what's not to like!

Is the product true to size?
14(?) years ago I bought my first Dartmoor -a perfect combination of practicality, durability and comfort. I've used them as my main footwear ever since and wear them every day for shopping, work and hiking. They are not quite perfect, there can be a complete absence of grip on some surfaces e.g. on wet "marble" like surfaces you get in some shops and arcades (but I understand this is true of other footwear with vibram soles), the insole is okay but replacing with gel insoles improves.

My 14th pair I do a lot of walking and with our winters being wet and muddy these shoes have a very good resilience to our winters (looked after properly) I can put them straight on and know there will not be a sore foot or blister in sight. Mine this year have walked twice in the lakes one of those being up Scarfel Pike and next week the West Highland Way.

Really good walking shoes, very well made and comfortable to walk in even after many miles. I would definitely recommend these to anyone wanting to buy quality footwear.
