“These shoes feel very well made and represent good value at the price. I use them for dog walking over wet grass and mud and they have kept my feet dry. I have taken 1 star off, ironically because I am comparing them to 2 other pairs of Grisport I have worn - I have found the Apache's are not as comfortable despite being the same size as my other Grisport shoes.”
“My second pair of Apaches and super value for money. The first pair are holding up okay but after two and half years of moderate use, the Cordura fabric is beginning to split where it meets the toe cap. Not a bad innings though and I anticipate they will see a few more months of hiking during dryer summer months. I like the toggle fastener a lot...no laces to come undone...nice touch. I'm a big fan of Grisport products and all, whether Fuse, Dartmoor or Apache have been uber comfortable.”
“Great shoes and excellent value. Good combo of comfort with support and protection for feet. Have so far proved equally proficient for pounding the city streets and hiking in the high desert in New Mexico. Can't yet vouch for waterproofing as not yet tried in testing conditions.”
“I have to say I'm pretty disappointed in these shoes.
Unlike other reviewers I found them very uncomfortable, with the back moving up and down continuously and rubbing my heel every step. At first I thought I needed to break them in but months later the problem still persisted. I tried alternative sizes, in-soles and heel pads all to no avail. I even gave them to my dad (who wears the same size as me) only for him to give them straight back a month later and as they caused him to get fasciitis.”
“The Apache is good value for money. They're comfortable straight out of the box. This recent purchase was actually my second. The first pair was do comfortable, I wore them pretty much everyday. For work, general walking, hikes and driving. As a result, the sole wore out fast. The toe box on both side wore out and have developed holes. Despite that, I still rate them. You buy a pair of shoes like this for walking.
The Apache aren't water proof, they are water resistant or splash proof. It would help if other customers could state how they found Grisport shoes and boots outside their home countries. In a recent holiday in Hong Kong, I found that my Apaches didn't respond to the loose sandy soil on the hills. The Apache is great on dry conditions, but not ideal in the wet.”
