“This was comfortable from the outset, like most Grisport shoes I've worn. It's a medium weight safety shoe, and the key distinguishing characteristic is the mechanism replacing the laces.
Tightening and loosening the laces is pretty easy -push in and twist to tighten, pull to release.
Quick release, removing the shoe and ease of putting it back on - absolutely outstanding. So much space that you don't have to touch the shoe other than pulling the QR button.
Tightening is above average, and functionally adequate - and you can do it and everything else one-handed. Takes about 4 turns for me to tighten my laces acceptably, and some extra if I want them really secure. Could do with a larger button for leverage to tighten more securely, and fewer turns for speed (it's a balance between the two, but clearly either could be improved a lot, or both a bit - it's a balance - at the expense of having a larger and possibly more obtrusive balance. For me, this would add an extra star.
Worth it? Quick release and one handed operation (for convenience, not necessity) were a priority for my usage patterns - I'm always swapping to have clean shoes for indoor use - so, definitely.
Caveats? How long will it last before the plastic internal 'lace' snaps, and if it does how easy/expensive to fix?
So far so good. Time will tell.
Sizing? Err on the large side if in doubt (as for boots you want a thick sock in).”
