“First off a big vote of thanks to Gavin Cole from Grisport who sorted my delivery problem with Royal Mail by switching quickly to DPD first class customer service.
This is my fourth pair of footwear from Grisport when I got my first pair I couldn’t believe how comfortable they were from the word go the same happened on the second and third pairs however that’s where the good news ends. In comparison to the other pairs there is little or no give in the foot bed of the Dartmoor GTX.
Initially to check fit I did 2 miles on a treadmill to check fit.(should’ve done a lot more)
I then went on an 8.2 mile hike on mixed terrain on paved, tarmac, gravel, woodland, and boardwalk paths. The Dartmoors were unforgiving creating hot spots on the ball of the foot and pressure points on the top of the foot from the laces.
In the interests of giving them a second chance I went on a further 9.4 mile tramp again on mixed terrain of tarmac, gravel, and woodland trails again the Dartmoors were unforgiving even with a change to gel insoles this time the one of the hotspots raised a blister and the lacing points or possibly the tongue gusset created pressure points on the top of the foot a change to a different lacing pattern didn’t help.
I bought the Dartmoors GTXs with the aim of using them on the Camino de Santiago from Porto in September I can only hope that that they breaking an improve in the interim though I don’t hold out too much hope.a change to another make may be in order.
I am giving the Dartmoor GTXs three stars however two of these only relate to the comfort of the shoe the extra star is for the excellent customer service.”
