“The larvae arrived in seemingly good condition and were applied to a fan palm in a room kept at 72-74F and the plant had not been subjected to insecticide spraying. The larvae disappeared into the lower regions of the plant with only one of them remaining in view. This particular creature did not move for several days, by which time I thought they had all probably died. However, after around two weeks I saw adult ladybirds crawling along the stems of the plant and the following morning they seemed to be more attracted to the window and surrounds. I had assumed that the larvae were responsible for removing the mealy bugs before they pupated and flew off.”

“I think quite possibly it was too cold when I got these and should have tried them earlier in the year but they were pretty lethargic (one was an ex-cryptolaemus lava) and didn’t get going. Very disappointing really.”
