Photinias are evergreen shrubs commonly found in woodlands. They have alternate, lance-shaped leaves which are mid green in colour. Evergreen leaves are glossy and have a bright red sometimes pink colour when young. Red Robin are best planted in a shrub border or around a garden as a hedge. They enjoy fertile, well-drained soil and full or partial sun. Photinia carre rouge is characterized by its compact habit, its smaller and more pointed leaves, and especially its young shoots and leaves blood red colored, very bright. Height can reach up to 2.5 meters.
